A customer was having a significant problem with cables abrading on a control cabinet door hinge, the traditional solution of a Spirobound type of product was not satisfactory due to its sharp edges and poor appearance. Self closing sleeve was the answer, it gave high abrasion resistance together with a nice finish. It also allowed easy removal and replacement for maintenance.
How do you fit parts to a vertical surface without the need for mechanical fixings or an extra pair of hands? Easy you laminate it to an adhesive layer, only in this case the adhesive had to allow adjustments to the piece and not delaminate under extreme conditions. We achieved this by using a combination of adhesives to either side of a substrate, creating a high tack on one side and a low tack on the other; it's simple when you know how.
High temperature protection of sensitive parts is always difficult, Heatshrink is not always suitable due to the high temperature required to activate the shrinkage or accessibility problems. Conform is a good solution and has the added benefit of being removable for maintenance, its unique construction allows it to be stretched over the component offering good electrical, thermal and chemical protection.
"I need a complex bespoke gasket, I need it tomorrow and I only need one". This type of request used to be impossible but with the latest CADCAM machinery, the drawing can be sent via email and produced almost immediately. We now have five of these machines each with a different capability allowing us to create almost any part from a 2D drawing. We regularly produce specialist parts in large or small quantities as well as more basic shapes and pieces ranging in thicknesses from 12 micron flexible films to 40mm rigid materials.
